my little artist

Aerilaya is already such a little artist. I see her concentration and focus on art more than I see her with anything else. She turns 3 in  April , and I'm excited to see how she progresses throughout time. Both Scott and I have always been inclined to draw, write, create stories and art. It is something that has been a strong  part of our own childhood and it is awesome to see my own creation of a child, be so creative as well.

Circles. Circles are huge right now to her little developing mind. She has been drawing random chaos for awhile now and has moved upwards to circles.

wow! it's a turtle!
I think Scott and I were astounded to see her draw this picture. I mean it's a turtle. An actual purposeful turtle. She has been drawing circles for a few days now, and then, after watching Scott and I draw things she asks for, she drew something herself. This is the first time she applied her circle principle to something she wanted to draw. Today I decided she was ready to paint, I have been avoiding it because of the mess, but I used tempera paint which is easy clean up and her little paint splotched shirt is perfect for covering up potential paint splotches of her own.

It was love at first sight for her. She was a natural. She painted 3 pictures and I was happy as it kept her busy for a whole hour and I got to relax! kidding. I am writing this post and she is STILL painting. I love it. She loves it. It's win win. I think it's time I create an art room for her.
counting dots as she goes! she can count to 10
